Lakmé Academy powered by Aptech organised Glamathon 2020 on Creosouls to drive students’ creativity and keep them motivated even during the tough times of the COVID-19 lockdown. Without letting the lack of resources/tools act as a deterrent to participation or violating the state-issued social distancing guidelines, the students registered overwhelming participation and put forth their best works.
The first round of the Glamathon 2020 was a basic qualifier where the students were asked to submit any old/current work across various categories. The qualifier shortlisted 400 participants for the second round out of 800+ entries.
In the second round, the challenge for each category was different. The students participating in the Makeup category had to do basic makeup with a focus on eye make-up. For Skin, the students had to do Do-It-Yourself Facial/Clean Up while describing the utility of each ingredient and its effect on different skin types. In the Hair category, the students had to recreate any hairstyle of 80’s Bollywood. This level saw a lot of great entries in terms of work as well as conceptualization of the entire photo shoot. Out of 300 participants, 100 were shortlisted for the round 3.
For the final round, the Makeup students had to a 3D make-up on the theme of nature. In the skin category, the students had to do Nail-Art and the Hair students were asked to re-create 2 hairstyles out of the given 4 references. This round received 87 entries.
As the entire competition was hosted on Creosouls, all the participants from all over India could view the works of their peers from all other zones with ease and scale up their own creativity. For the final round, the judging panel consisted of distinguished industry experts including Mr. Javed Khan (Regional Nail Trainer- Lakmé), Ms. Anupama Katyal (National Creative Director Makeup – Lakmé) and Ms. Pooja Singh (National Creative Director Hair – Lakmé) evaluating for skin, make-up and hair categories respectively.
The competition that saw 1200+ registrations, 3 rounds and 100 finalists, concluded with top 12 contestants.
