Lakmé Academy event – Cover Girl Season 1

Cover Girl 2020

The first-edition of Cover Girl was held in February 2020. The competition witnessed a massive participation by Lakmé Academy powered by Aptech students from centres across India. A national level competition like this helps students and alumni to prepare themselves for print photo-shoots, fashion shows, beauty contests etc. It helps them understand how makeup for film and digital industry varies from makeup for the print media like magazines, newspapers, catalogues etc.

The most exciting part of the contest? THE BEST COVER got featured as the cover of our next Lakmé Academy Powered by Aptech brochure.

Cover Girl Season 1 was an offline contest where students got an excellent opportunity to showcase their makeup and hairstyling skills for the print industry. It gave them a glamourous platform to work, showcase their artistic skills, and win accolades. Cover Girl being a team activity helped students gather the knowledge and confidence of working in big groups for offline events.

In the first edition of Cover Girl, students were asked to pick a magazine genre of their choice, like retro and high fashion, and accordingly to do a hair and makeup look on models for the magazine cover. Once the look was completed, they had to put the same on the chosen magazine cover and share the entry with the jury. The winners were chosen based on creativity, originality and realistic look of the magazine.
